A hoot helping Howling Dog

Recently we began work with a fun, life-loving lady named Cindy. She’s the creator behind Howling Dog jewelry. She has had a thriving Etsy store and recently jumped in on a brick-and-mortar opportunity in Hillsboro, Oregon. As a legally blind artist, her jewelry entices your sense for texture and feel as well as amazing looks. Like so many, she has a great story to tell, but a one-sided business card is not the place or you wind up looking rather jumbled. We went with a two-sided card with the critical information stylishly presented on one side, and the back side shows some of her color and flair while giving a big open space. Why?  These cards can be presented with the title of a named piece of jewelry written on them, or a customer may want to jot down a note or two.  Since this first step, we’ve produced  several other coordinating pieces for her from hang tags and logo stickers to cards that describes her metal working.

Incidentally, you might wonder why a company titled “Howling Dog” sports peony flowers rather than, well, a howling dog. We asked! As Cindy relates, her logo used to be a howling husky with it’s head pointed in a good howl to the sky, but sales were lagging. With some shrewd inquiry, she learned that many people thought she was selling jewelry…intended for pets… Dogs!! While the image shift might not make sense, it worked. Sales are up and new releases go fast. Go ahead, look her up and pay her a visit. Her work is inspiring!
